Anaphylaxis Policy

1. Why This Policy Matters
Your safety and well-being are our top priorities! This policy outlines how we prevent and respond to any allergic reactions, ensuring that everyone — children and adults alike — can feel safe and enjoy their time with us.

2. Being Aware of Allergies
We keep a list of common allergens, like nuts, dairy, and eggs, to help us keep everyone safe.
Parents/guardians, please let us know about any allergies during the registration process so we can take extra care.

3. Keeping It Allergen-Free
We do our best to create an allergen-free environment, avoiding any common allergens in our art materials. Our space is cleaned and sanitized regularly to reduce any risks of cross-contamination.

4. In Case of Emergency
Our team is trained to recognize the signs of anaphylaxis and is ready to use an EpiPen (epinephrine auto-injector) if needed. We’ve got your back!

5. Important Medical Information
If your child has a known allergy, we’ll need a detailed action plan from your medical professional. This plan will guide us on exactly what to do if an allergic reaction occurs, and it includes emergency contact info.

6. Keeping Everyone Informed
We’ll share our anaphylaxis policy with parents/guardians when you enroll, along with some simple guidelines for managing allergies. Our staff receives regular training so they know how to spot an allergic reaction, respond quickly, and use EpiPens correctly.

7. Food and Snacks
To help us maintain a safe space, we kindly ask that no allergenic foods be brought into our facility.

8. What Happens in an Emergency
If a child has an allergic reaction, our staff will quickly administer their prescribed EpiPen and call emergency services right away.
Parents/guardians will be notified immediately, and we’ll keep you updated on your child’s condition.

9. Easy Access to EpiPens
EpiPens are stored in a clearly labelled, easy-to-reach spot in our facility. When we go off-site for events, we always bring them along just in case.

10. Practicing and Staying Up-to-Date
We review our anaphylaxis policy every year to make sure we’re following the latest best practices. We also run regular drills to practice our emergency response, so we’re always prepared.

At Childway Art Space, we’re committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment where everyone can unleash their creativity with peace of mind. Our anaphylaxis policy is just one of the ways we make sure everyone feels comfortable and cared for during their time with us!
